MyWVUDentalCare FAQs

What is MyWVUDentalCare?

The MyWVUDentalCare Patient Portal provides patients with a secure online environment to access their personal and medical information.  With MyWVUDentalCare, patients can:

- View and Confirm Upcoming Appointments
- Send and Receive Messages with your Providers
- Update your Medical History before your Appointment
- View your Personal, Medical, and Insurance Information

How do I register for a MyWVUDentalCare account?

Ensure you are a patient of record with WVU Dental Care and have an email address on file.  If you would like to become a patient or if you need to update your email address on file, call our clinic at 304-293-6208.

To register:

Step 1:  Click the "Register for Access" link to the left.

Step 2:  Enter the requested information - birthdate, first name, and email address.  Click "Send Email."

Step 3:  Click the "Create Account" link contained within the confirmation email you receive.  This link will be available for 48 hours before it expires.  If it expires, you will need to restart the registration process.  (NOTE:  If you do not see the email, please check your junk/spam folder)

Step 4:  Create your username and password and set three security questions.  Make sure to take note of your username and password, which are both case-sensitive.  Click "Submit."

Step 5:  You will receive a final confirmation email and you can now login and access your account at my.wvudentalcare.org/.

Why am I not able to register?

You may be having difficulty registering for a number of reasons.  Check to make sure the following are true:

1. You are a patient of record at WVU Dental Care

2. You have a valid email address on file with us and it matches the email address you typed in to register.

3. You have entered a first/preferred name that matches the spelling we have on file.

4. Check your email spam/junk folder - be sure to check here if you did not receive a registration email.

I forgot my username or password.  What should I do?

Click the "Forgot Password" link to the left.  Enter your birthdate, first name, and email address and an email will be sent with a link to reset your password.  This link will expire one hour after it is sent.  If the link expires, you will need to restart the Forgot Password process.  Your email will also contain your username.

NOTE:  Both usernames and passwords are case-sensitive.

Some of my personal or insurance information is incorrect.  How do I update my information?

If you notice that some of the personal information or insurance information that we have on file for you is incorrect, please call us at 304-293-6208 to update your information.  You can also choose to alert the Registration Specialist at your next appointment.

How do I send a message to my dental provider?

Go to "My Messages" and click "Compose" to electronically send a message to one of your appointment providers.  Click the "Recipients" button to find your provider's name.

Please do not message your provider if you need to change or cancel an appointment.  Go to our Contacts page to call your clinic directly.

How do I confirm an upcoming appointment?

Go to "My Appointments" to see your next "Upcoming Appointment" or navigate to the "Appointment List" page.  Click on the appointment to view the appointment details and press the green "Confirm" button. If the appointment is already confirmed, you will see "Confirmed" in blue.

How do I change/cancel an appointment?

Please do not message your provider if you need to change or cancel an appointment.  Go to our Contacts page to call your clinic directly.

What forms do I need to fill out?

All patients are encouraged to complete their Medical History Record and the COVID-19 Questionnaire prior to their next appointment.  Both of these forms can be updated as needed, so patients are permitted to update/change existing answers on these forms for accuracy. If you are submitting an incomplete form, after clicking "Finished" be sure to confirm you are finished when the "incomplete form" warning message appears.  At any time you can return to provide updates to these forms.
